A man charged with 2 felonies in a western Wisconsin town is tied to 3 separate ‘shots fired’ calls.

A 21-year-old man was arrested after police linked him to three different “shots fired” calls in western Wisconsin over the course of three weeks.

The Campbell Police Department says that between 11:10 p.m. on October 26 and 7:30 p.m. on November 2, people in the 1700 block of La Crescent Street called them to say they heard four or five gunshots.

Then, around 7:40 p.m. on November 11, another call of “shots fired” was made in the 1600 block of La Crescent Street. In this case, the caller said they heard seven to eight gunshots and could describe the offender.

Logan Smizek, a suspect later identified as 21 years old, was reportedly found drunk with a gun by police five minutes after they got to La Crescent Street.

Police found empty shell casings on the street after an investigation that allegedly included video footage of Smizek firing the gun. They found that several shots had hit a nearby business building.

Police think that Smizek is also suspected of being guilty for the other two incidents.

Smizek was arrested and charged with Reckless Use of a Firearm, 2nd Degree Reckless Endangering Safety, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. He was taken to the La Crosse County Jail. The next day, he was freed on a signing bond.
