KTVU says that a 30-year-old woman died in a crash on Mission Boulevard, north of East Lewelling Boulevard, on Saturday night, November 16, 2024.
There was an accident around 9:44 PM, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). A 17-year-old boy was driving a Dodge Caravan. It was said that the woman was hit while walking in a crossing with fully working lights.
The California Highway Patrol says that speed seems to have played a part in the accident. The driver stayed at the scene of the accident and is helping the police.
As the investigation continues, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) wants anyone who saw the crash or knows anything about it to call their office. The woman’s name has not been made public yet because her family needs to be notified.
Pedestrian Fatalities and Wrongful Death Claims
Pedestrians are especially at risk in car crashes, so drivers have a duty of care to protect them. Being alert for pedestrians near the road is part of this duty, as is staying with the victim of a fatal accident, calling for help, and working with the police as they look into what happened.
If someone you care about dies in a pedestrian accident, you can file a Wrongful Death claim with the help of an experienced lawyer. This can help pay for hospital bills, funeral costs, and other damages.
If the driver who caused the accident avoids going to jail, the family member’s uninsured driver coverage could still help them get paid. Talking to a personal injury lawyer can help you figure out what your best choices are in these situations.
