A guy from Orlando has pleaded guilty to having a machine gun. He could spend up to ten years in prison for the crime.
Orlando, Florida, 19-year-old Jeremiah Cundiff admitted guilt in federal court, but his sentencing date is still a long way off, according to a release from U.S. Attorney Roger B. Handberg.
According to the plea deal, Cundiff was arrested on October 23, 2023, by police who were carrying out an active warrant.
According to the US Attorney’s Office, he tried to get away by making a move that was described as sneaky.
The scene of this “stealthy movement” had a loaded pistol that had been modified with a “switch” device to make it a fully automatic machinegun. Cundiff’s DNA was found on the weapon.
The only thing these conversion devices do is turn a semiautomatic gun into an automatic gun that fires constantly with a single pull of the trigger.
The study that led to Cundiff’s guilty plea was done by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. It is up to Assistant United States Attorney Noah P. Dorman to bring the charges.
