Four pistols that were illegally possessed were discovered by officers of the Hayward Police Department during a routine traffic stop that was conducted for an equipment violation.
According to the Hayward Police Department, the search of the vehicle and subsequent arrests for a variety of weapons-related offenses were prompted by the fact that some of the people who were inside the vehicle were eligible for probation that had search clauses.
