Authorities say that an Orlando man was found guilty of multiple drug dealing charges by an Orange County jury after a drug operation out of his home was broken down.
Jahkor Jackson, who is 29 years old, was found guilty of trafficking fentanyl, planning to traffic methamphetamines, and actually trafficking methamphetamines.
In 2021, Jackson was being investigated by the Orlando Police Department after a secret source told them that drugs were being used at his home in the 300 block of Hope Circle.
In October 2021, two controlled drug purchases were made from Jackson by police working undercover. Police were able to get a search warrant for his home based on these purchases and CCTV footage.
Jackson tried to get away during the raid by jumping a fence into a nearby yard, but detectives caught him right away.
Near where Jackson ran away, police found two boxes with 364 grams of fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine in them. The fentanyl that was caught was worth about $39,000 on the street and could have been given to about 4,000 people.
As part of the five-day trial, the jury listened to and watched recordings of the undercover drug purchases and heard from the Special Enforcement Division of the OPD.
Text messages from Jackson’s phone that talked about selling drugs were also used as proof.
Jackson will have to spend at least 25 years in jail for trafficking. The judge will decide on his sentence in December.
