The Army reports on the Trump campaign incident at Arlington National Cemetery.

The Army has released the police report from a fight that happened at Arlington National Cemetery in August between two campaign staffers for former President Donald Trump and a worker at the cemetery.

American Oversight, a group that keeps an eye on the government, sued and got the report made public on Friday. It has almost all of its information removed.

NPR was the first to report the event, which happened in August after Trump took part in a ceremony where he laid a wreath on the third anniversary of the bombing at Abbey Gate in Afghanistan that killed 13 U.S. service members.

Then, Trump went to Section 60 to see where U.S. troops who died in Iraq and Afghanistan are buried, after being asked to do so by some of their families and friends.

A source who knew about the event told NPR that two staff members were involved: Justin Caporale, who was the deputy campaign manager, and Michel Picard, who was on Trump’s advance team.

The campaign was told ahead of time that the visit that photos and videography from anyone other than an official Arlington photographer is not allowed at Arlington National Cemetery.

A person who knew about the situation says that when a graveyard worker tried to enforce the rules, she was yelled at by two Trump campaign workers. Two Pentagon sources say that Picard then pushed her out of the way.

The report that came out on Friday is from August 29th. It has a lot of redactions that hide names, and it doesn’t say if the Trump staffers were questioned by cops.

Some of the words in the report seem to describe what happened: “with both of [redacted] hands while attempting to move past.” It also says that the worker did not press charges.

After NPR reported on the fight, Steven Cheung, a spokesman for the Trump campaign, said they were “prepared to release footage” of it. He also said the Arlington employee was “clearly suffering from a mental health episode.”

The fight hasn’t been caught on video, but later, Trump’s team shared video from Section 60 on social media, and Trump himself said the whole thing was a “made up story.”
