Officials say that a Southwest Airlines flight from San Jose to Burbank had to turn around and land back in San Jose after only a few minutes because of engine trouble.
At 8:05 a.m., Southwest flight 2395 left Mineta San Jose International Airport for Hollywood Burbank Airport. At 8:40 a.m., the airport said it was told that an incoming flight was having engine trouble.
As of 8:56 a.m., the plane landed safely and walked to the gate on its own, with no other problems. This was stated in an airport release.
Data from FlightAware shows that the 737-700 started its return while it was over San Benito County. Southwest said the plane went back to San Jose because the crew got a repair message for the engine after taking off.
The plane was taken out of service until a repair crew could look at it, and Southwest said it could fit passengers on the next flight to Burbank.
The airline said that none of the 67 passengers and five team members were hurt. It was said that the Federal Aviation Administration was looking into what happened.
