The trial that is being held in San Mateo County to determine whether or not Cameron Hooker should continue to be considered a sexually violent predator was continued once more today.
Hooker was found guilty of kidnapping and torturing Colleen Stan, who was the victim of the notorious “Girl in a Box” case that originated in Tehama County.
Stan was held as a sex slave in his home in Red Bluff for a period of seven years, beginning in 1977 and ending in 1984.
During the course of the jury trial, which will last for two weeks, it will be decided whether or not Hooker will continue to be considered a dangerous sexual predator.
As far as the prosecution is concerned, Hooker will remain incarcerated in the event that he is found to be a sexually violent predator. He will be discharged into a halfway home if this does not occur.
