‘Heavy rains and high winds are expected to remain in the Bay Area’ can be slightly shortened to ‘Heavy rains and high winds are expected in the Bay Area’.

For the greater San Francisco Bay Area, the National Weather Service says it will continue to rain a lot and blow hard, especially in the North Bay.

The highs during the day will be in the low to high 60s along the coast, in the high 50s to mid-60s around the bay, and in the high 60s to 70s inland. Lows overnight will be mostly in the 50s.

They say that it will continue to rain throughout the day, though the amount of rain in North Bay might go down a little. In the hills, it will still rain one to three inches. Over the next 24 hours, it could rain up to six inches in the mountains.

The National Weather Service says that creeks and streams will fill up with rain for a long time, and there may still be water problems in the North Bay.

Strong winds from the south are also expected to keep going. Heavy rain and these winds will likely bring down trees and cause power cuts. The winds will probably die down a bit today, but they won’t get much better until tomorrow evening.

The rest of the Bay Area will have warm, muggy weather on Friday with cloudy skies. It will rain in places north of San Jose, but it will be much lighter and spread out more. It will not rain on the Central Coast.

Through tomorrow night, there is a High Surf Advisory in place for San Francisco, the Coastal North Bay (which includes Point Reyes National Seashore), the San Francisco Peninsula Coast, and parts of Monterey Bay and Big Sur on the Coast.
